I know I’ve talked about my love of gold and brass here before but can we talk about brass faucets for a minute? It was only a few years ago when most people would have turned up their nose at the thought of one but now they are everywhere. I still admit that silver faucets are easier to work with in the kitchen for the most part because they (usually) match some other element like the appliances or sink. But personally I don’t mind mixing my metals, especially with gorgeous pieces like these. When most elements are kept neutral and the gold toned faucet is used as the centerpiece, a few silver-toned elements still work as long as they aren’t competing for attention. (Will we be seeing gold toned appliances in kitchens soon too? I think so.) Even if they are trendy, a brass faucet is a relatively easy switch to make in a few years if you tire of it (where as a stone countertop isn’t). If you are renovating and you’re into the look, why not go for the warmth of brass?
