{ daydream destination } Le Meridien Bora Bora

Posted: December 29th, 2011 | Author: | Filed under: The Travel Bug | Tags: , , | Comments Off

The Location

Bora Bora is one of the most luxurious beach vacation destinations in the world. It’s naturally stunning setting with jagged volcanic peaks jutting out against the serene turquoise lagoon waters. The Polynesian islets are by nature remote and subdued. Bora Bora is an expensive destination so make sure your pockets are well-lined before booking your trip.

The Hotel

Le Meridien Bora Bora is one of the Bora Bora’s most high end resorts – and in a place littered with 5-star accomodations that’s saying a whole lot. The setting is straight out of a postcard. All rooms are tropical theme but in a much brighter and more Art Deco way than similar hotels.

The hotel offers six different categories of bungalows, all of which were renovated in 2010. Rooms have all the modern amenities expected: flat screen TV, direct-dial phone and safe. The approximately 60 square meter rooms are all air-conditioned and are large enough to accommodate an extra bed, if required. Bathrooms feature a separate bathtub and walk in shower, along with top of the line amenities.

Over-the-water bungalows feature a large section of glass flooring providing guests an endless opportunity to watch the sea life below. Beach bungalows offer their own perks – sections of private beach equipped with luxurious hammocks.

The Extras

The best feature of the hotel is the Turtle Sanctuary. This offers guests a unique opportunity to meet and learn about turtles in their natural environment. The program is active in the protection of sea turtles and helps to ensure a future for them in the area. A team from Bora Bora’s Ministry and the Delegation of the Environment is dedicated to marine turtle care at the resort.

The Kaïnalu Canoe Club is another unique feature to the hotel, who was the first hotel to reintroduce the traditional French Polynesian boat. Guest can book excursions on the boat or enjoy a trip on a traditional Polynesian sailing canoe. This is a great opportunity to learn about Polynesian tradition while experiencing the area’s natural beauty.

The resort also offers a wide selection of activities for adults as well as children, and can book additional activities as required. There is also a Wellness Centre on the property, which offers a full range of treatments.
