Things I Love

Blame Beyonce. I’m pretty sure I’ve featured surfboards-as-decor here before but they are definitely having a moment. I’ve seen them on shirts, in prints as well as as-is. It’s a wonderful theme for the summer season and would bring that beachy vibe home even in the middle of winter. Approved.

If you are looking to truly stand out, there are few more fail-proof ways than by choosing an unusual light fixture. These linear brass numbers are a great example. Though a thoroughly modern shape, the brass finish adds some formality and makes them a perfect match for even a traditional space. I would loooove to hang one in my dining room but they are a wee bit out of my budget for the time being. But a girl can dream right? xx

I haven’t done one of these round up posts for home decor in way too long! But I really should do them more regularly so here we go: my current home decor favorites, both high and low. Enjoy!

Things I Love

I just stumbled across these amazing yarn paintings on Instagram and I fell in luuuurvve. And proper swoony love at that. But I admit, having not spent much time in Mexico, I wasn’t familiar with yarn painting – a Huichol sacred artwork. I had to do a little research to figure out what was going on here. The work at Evoke the Spirit seems to use the technique mixed with lovely skulls (ceramic and real as far as I can tell). There is not much info on the website but it looks like Domino Mag has just paid them a visit so I’m sure you’ll be seeing much more soon.

Christine Dovey just has that thing, you know? That design magic. Her recent bedroom reveal is as amazing as you would expect and it got me all over the idea of a black bedroom again. Bedrooms should be cozy and dark in my mind and black seems so perfect. Of course, I have a black bedroom wall so I am a bit biased but look at these pretties anyway and see if you agree.
