Okay, I know – this isn’t actually a renovation anymore. It’s just decorating. But I never showed you the final pictures of my space after the renos were finished – and that’s because the first time I saw everything finished was when I was moving in (um, stressful, yes). Plus moving chaos takes a long time to abate much less get to the photo-worthy point. Even now, this space is far from done (and neither are the others that aren’t shown here). But I think this gives you a pretty good idea of what my space has turned out like and why I am so incredibly happy with it.
If something is black and white at Ikea I will buy it.
After ridding myself of a lot of Ikea over the years, I seem to have acquired a bunch more of it. But I am okay with that.
At least I made the TV stand! And thrifted the white stool and ceramic cat.
Curtains are still to come on all of the smaller windows. I want to go dark charcoal grey but there are SO MANY WINDOWS that I think it might be too much.
Crafts and stuff. That Ikea Expedit has now moved something like five times and is starting to show it’s advanced (for Ikea) age. So I electrical taped on some stripes. I might yet add some neon washi tape but we shall see.
And as much as I love the black console table, it is too big for the space. I will be selling it on Craigslist when I come back so keep an eye out yo.
Years ago I had a dream that I had an apartment that was all black and white. This is the closest I have gotten to realizing that dream (though unintentionally). Some things just make more sense looking back, don’t they?
And I know posting pictures of my apartment right before I leave the country might not seem like the best of ideas but rest assured my house-sitter knows kung fu.
