We’re overdue for a little travel daydreaming, don’t you think? For this round, I am taking you on a virtual trip to Marrakech – specifically to the gorgeous Fellah Hotel. The property houses 69 units on a sprawling 14 acre property. Much more than a mere hotel, Fellah serves as home base to a number of artists with it’s residency program. The hotel is located thirty minutes from the Marrakech itself, making it an ideal base for those seeking a truly relaxing experience.
Ten individual villas make up the rooms and each has been outfitted in a unique style. The design style is rather curious: a mashup of modernism meets traditional meets Moroccan, of course all with an emphasis on comfort.
The hotel itself prides itself on it’s green initiatives and uses eco-friendly toiletries and cleaning products. The onsite restaurant uses locally sourced food while the building itself incorporated local materials.
The stunning outdoor pool, surrounded by sculptural cacti, is the star of the show. Those seeking relaxation will find solace even here, as it is rarely at full capacity. The hotel also operates a small Thai massage spa with Wat Po certified massage therapists – my favorite! There is also a traditional hammam as well as yoga and Tai Chi classes. Should boredom ever threaten to set in, the 10,000+ book library will do it’s best to keep it at bay.
