The home of Lara Hedberg Deam is what famously launched Dwell magazine into being. In 1994 Deam had purchased a cabin in Mill Valley, California which needed some extensive renovation work. Deam attacked the project slowly but her design and renovation journey changed the dialogue between architects and homeowners for the better. Fittingly, Deam met and married architect Chris Deam a few years after the original project’s completion. However, their busy young family life demanded a different sort of space than Deam’s original space. So project number two was born and the results are nothing short of spectacular. This home is both dramatic and fun, young but adult-friendly, casual yet carefully curated. I am totally smitten.

I, for one, am looking forward to this first weekend in spring. For starters we might finally be seeing sunshine and warm weather around here (although I won’t really believe it till I see it). Plus I’ve also got plans with good friends and still so many projects to juggle. I can’t wait to dig in and get started. I hope yours is equally full of relaxation and sunshine.

Sometimes I think this post should be called I Read A Lot of Blogs So You Don’t Have To! Seriously though, how many are too many? I admit to being rather fickle blog wise. I add and remove from my Reader on a weekly basis. I do know that I spend too much time reading other blogs but trying to whittle them down is proving challenging. So many blogs, so little time. How do you keep it all organized? Anyway, I hope to catch up with them this weekend. Have a great one!
