[ wishlist wednesday ] Lila Rice

I’m crushing on Lila Rice‘s work right now in a major way. It’s all so wonderfully graphic. I especially love the large scale of the earrings. It’s kind of an eighties throw back but totally modern at the same time. It’s all gorgeous and just a little bit on the tough side.

[ what I ate ] Warm Vegetable Curry

Posted: February 17th, 2012 | Author: | Filed under: F-f-fashion, What I Ate | Tags: , | No Comments »

Warm Vegetable Curry

I put this recipe by Food 52 at Well and Good NYC in my round up last week and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. So when it came time to hit the grocery store on the weekend I was prepared. There was a lot of veggie prep but the actual cooking time was pretty short, so I would still classify this as a quick weeknight sort of meal.

I haven’t made a curry in a long time and this hit the spot in the best of ways. I’ve never put yam (the recipe called for sweet potato) in a curry before and it was perfect. All the veggies worked really well actually. It could have been spicier (my palate likes it hot) but that was easily solved with a splash of sriracha. All in all it was a wonderfully pleasing meal for a chilly February night and made enough to last me several days. Bonus point.

[ wishlist wednesday ] The Red Pant

Posted: February 15th, 2012 | Author: | Filed under: F-f-fashion, Wishlist Wednesday | Tags: , | No Comments »

My winter wardrobe is feeling kind of boring lately. I mean I love my things but sometimes you just need something new. It just takes a little something bright to shine a new light on your existing wardrobe (and uh yeah, I might be guilty of employing this logic a little too often lately). In any case I am thinking that red pants would make a great transitional piece for this pre-spring season. I love how they kick up a regular ensemble into something fresh and new – like these fashionable ladies illustrate so well.

I tried to make this edition as Valentine’s free as possible. And not just because I happen to be single this year. Every year I get overloaded by all the expectation. Isn’t it better to do something romantic almost any other day? I hope that doesn’t sound too grumpy-pants. Anyway, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I’ll continue this pink-free zone next week. xo
