This week I’m dreaming of summer skirts, specifically these flowy midi skirts. It’s still a bit too cold for these here since I think they are best worn with bare legs (ie. not the black tights that I still can’t give up for the season). This look can easily go dowdy so be sure to pair them with cropped or tucked-in tops and a belt for good measure. Plus don’t forget the ever important flat shoe! I love how the girls above have worn them, for example. With a heel they look a bit too 1950s housewife for my taste (though I get that that can be a good thing too). Anyway, here are a few good ones but I really love the denim Zara one! Might just have to pick it up.
I’m a devoted skinny jeans girl and by this point it’s been years since I’ve worn anything else. So maybe it’s time for a switch up? (Haha.) Anyway, lately I’ve been seeing cute girls about town in boyfriend jeans, so much so that they’ve begun to percolate in my head. Usually in magazines and fashion blogs, I see these styled with super high heels. That is a cute look of course but where do I ever go wearing heels and jeans at the same time? So these photos of girls wearing them with oxfords or brogues are where it’s at for me. Tomboy for life.
It finally feels like spring – hallelujah! I can’t wait to spend a little time outdoors this weekend relaxing. I’ve managed to sneak out for a few bits here and there but at this time of year I’m always anxious for some sun on my face. (Please please please)
I thought this was just my obsession but it seems the fashion world is agreeing with me. Marble prints are having a moment right now. They are black and white and kind of reminiscent of tie dye, so they are perfect for casual summer wear. When I saw this Phillip Lim 3.1 geode print, I totally swooned. I mean, how gorgeous is that print? Nature doesn’t make mistakes, right? (And on that note now I am wondering why it’s so common to wear flower print but stone print still seems so unusual.) But this is all proof that marble print works in all forms – even on shoes and tote bags.
